Review of The Lumiere Hotel Phnom Penh – Cambodia

I was privileged to be invited to the launch of Lumiere Hotel and had the chance to stay a night in the swanky new business hotel which seem to have garner quite a fair bit of attention from local Khmers of Cambodia. Its not hard to see why.

The Welcome

Excellent staffs, attentive and friendly

As I approach from the airport from a distance, one could spot Lumiere Hotel from afar with its modern and chic’ facade. Standing on Street 228, Lumiere Hotel is one of the tallest building in the vicinity, with impressive presence to boot. Right on arrival, the cheerful lights through the high ceiling glass walls greets me. Oh the coffee smell from their cafe too.

Bean Scene serves excellent coffee!

The staffs were trained to welcome and assure me that my stay is going to be a pleasant one with a welcome drink and ushering of my luggage to my room whilst I have a sip of cappuccino at Bean Scene on the ground floor.

The Room (most importantly)

Evening sunset from my room.

Attention to detail as with any minimum 4 star rating hotel, with your name printed on a welcome card on your study desk. USB Wall plug sockets are there so you don’t really have to bring out your charger, just the cables to charge your devices. Good size room with a view (I’m on the 9th floor).

Showers and towels are comfortable, with good bathing/ shampoo gels. Great water pressure with adjustable temperature faucet.

Most importantly, Sealy bed and quality pillows to accompany me for the night.

Thoughtful, great size. Most importantly, good bed and pillows to boot.

Sky Bar at illuma

With excellent views and ambience for any occasions, Illuma surprised me with its offering.

illuma’s views were amazing. You can see the stretch of Phnom Penh from here. People who like photography can catch good sunrise/ sets here too. Good selection of whisky, drinks and tapas food to go along during discussions.

In a Nut

My future business trips to Phnom Penh will definitely be placed in The Lumiere. I can’t think of putting up at any of the other hotels at the moment with the hospitality and value I’m getting even as compared to some of the 4/5-star brands that is currently already in Cambodia. With the correct hardwares matching with heartwares, I have to give props to them for my excellent stay and future expectation of their delivery.
